Currently working on the short story "Scars", we are correcting questions in class. However, I would strongly encourage students share their responses to questions in class to ensure that they are answering them correctly. Students also have their first assignment – “A Rant”
this will be due on Monday, October 7th. They should also be reading their first novel The Giver. |

Their first essay is due this Friday, October 4th. They have to compare two poems. This is a major assignment. They should be reading their first novel at home, “Night”. |

Event We are working through our first unit on Survival from the Passages text. Selections are read in class, questions are assigned and students have opportunity to work on them in class. Today we were working on the selection called “Suitcase Lady.” They have completed two assignments to date, one on Dachau, the other on a documentary called “Paper Clips”. It is due on Wednesday, October 4th. We’ll be starting our first novel, Of Mice and Men, in a couple of weeks |
