General Messages:

As a social studies teacher I would encourage all students to be aware of regional, national and international current events. I have mentioned to all classes that I expect them to watch the news daily and/or to read about events on the internet. I suggest CBC or CTV to get a Canadian perspective, however, any news source would be helpful.

I encourage parents and guardians to discuss events with their children to enrich their understanding of the larger world.
