Students will be beginning a research project on ‘La francophonie de Terre-Neuve et du Labrador.  They will have three classes beginning next week to do research and write jot notes.

Everyone should be reading our novel Alexis at home.  Students are required to write brief chapter summaries.

 

First set of chapter summaries due...

 

We are starting evaluations in class –listening and reading comprehension and oral production...they should have results the day after each evaluation.

 

Chapter summaries for Alexis are due October 28

 

All first drafts of presentation are now due.   (October 26)

We are beginning the study of our novel Alexis.  Students will most likely have questions to do on a nightly basis.  This will be noted and marked.

 

Students are working on their analysis of their novel  -- Alexis – rough drafts will be due before exams.

 

There are still many analyses not handed in.  Please check with your child to see if he or she has not completed this task.

 

We have completed a unit in Grammar.  Students are now working on an assignment re. this study.  Date of submission ....

 

Students are now doing research for their speech.

Students are to work on their jot notes for their ”Francophonie mondiale” presentation --- much research is expected.

I have just passed back their rough draft of the poetry assignment.  Still waiting on a couple!  Students are now asked to correct their errors, and to type their good copy.  They are to have a visual that represents their poem, and are to explain how it can be linked.  Due date for the good copy...

Students have completed a listening and reading evaluation.

 

We will begin an assignment based on the two verb tenses we have studied.  Time will be given in class, and then completed at home.

 

Students are working on their second essay entitled À Bientôt!.

Students should be preparing for their long answer and multiple choice test on the first unit.  Test .......

 

Students have their review sheet for their second test –the first for World War One.  Test to take place....

 

We are  now studying the battles and technology of the First World War – soon we will start a project which will be submitted before Christmas.

 

We are now studying Canada after the First World War.  The final evaluation of this unit will be a newspaper.  Included in this newspaper will be articles, poetry, interviews, etc.  The good copy will be due next Tuesday,  March 16.

Students are working on an assignment based on visuals and documents.  They have been given class time,,and are now required to finish at home.  This assignment is due...

 

Students should be preparing for their second test on World War 1.  Test....

 

Students must submit their assignment on L’assassinat de François Ferdinand, which was started in class.

 

Students were given the opportunity to improve their first assignment.  This one is also due.

 

Mini reports have been distributed.  Please check with your child regarding his or her progress to date..

 

Your child will be given on a daily basis four reflection questions of material that was taught that day.  He-she is responsible for having these completed to discuss the following day.  Please encourage them to review their material each day, and having these questions will help them focus.
